Macomb County flags 8 Sterling Heights precincts for Nov. 3 polling-place changes

At least four of the eight flagged precincts may have used the same building in 2024, so voters should confirm their Nov. 3 location before heading out.

Macomb County flags 8 Sterling Heights precincts for Nov. 3 polling-place changes

Macomb County has flagged eight Sterling Heights precincts for temporary polling-place changes in the Nov. 3, 2026 general election — but at least half of those precincts appear to have voted in the same building already in November 2024. For those voters, a flag may not be a move at all.

The comparison that matters is the Nov. 5, 2024 presidential general election, the most recent election for which Sterling Heights precinct maps are available, set against Macomb County's assignments for the 2026 State General.

The eight flagged precincts

The Macomb County Clerk's precinct-by-precinct list flags Precincts 17, 19, 23, 27, 28, 29, 31, and 36.

  • Precincts 17 and 19 — Utica United Methodist Church, 8650 Canal Road.
  • Precincts 23, 27, 28, and 29 — Stevenson High School, 39701 Dodge Park Road.
  • Precinct 31 — Plumbrook Elementary, 39660 Spalding Drive.
  • Precinct 36 — UAIS/Heritage Junior High, 37400 Dodge Park Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312.

For Precincts 23, 27, 28, and 29, at least one November 2024 record already placed voters at Stevenson High School — the same building they are now flagged as moving to temporarily. Those four may not have moved from the 2024 ballot at all; the flag appears tied to a later, interim list rather than the last presidential.

Precincts 17, 19, 31, and 36 are harder to pin down: available records disagree on where those voters cast ballots in November 2024, so their exact prior location could not be reconstructed.

Macomb County provides the what and the where, not the why. All eight changes carry a temporary label, with no stated reason such as construction, and no recent third-party reporting has confirmed a cause.

If your precinct isn't listed

No other Sterling Heights precinct appears on the county's list with a change flag for November 2026. If your precinct is not among 17, 19, 23, 27, 28, 29, 31, or 36, the county reports no change.

Given how murky the 2024 record is even for the flagged precincts, a precinct absent from that list is the clearer signal — nothing changed there. Still, the one-minute confirmation below is the surest way to vote at the right door.

Check in about a minute at the Michigan Voter Information Center, Michigan's official lookup, which shows your current polling-place assignment — or read it off your voter identification card. Those are the controlling sources, not a neighbor's recollection or last year's door.
